Did it arrive?

Delivered, bounces, complaints: the sender health panel answers before you've asked, and turns red before it's serious.

Your open rate is wrong. Everyone else's is too.

An open is measured by a one-pixel image, loaded when the message is displayed. That was a good approximation — until 2021.

That year, Apple introduced Mail Privacy Protection: images are preloaded for everyone, opened or not. A subscriber who has never seen your email counts as an open.

2021the year the number stopped meaning anythingBy how much is your rate inflated? That depends on the share of Apple users in your list — something you don't control and don't know.

Compare your rate to your own campaigns, not to an average you found on a blog. Mailcheer shows the industry benchmark next to yours — 19.2% open rate, 2.4% click rate, WebFX & ClickMinded, 2026 — as a direction, never as a grade.

What hasn't been damaged

Click rate and send rates can still be measured. Two of them are not comfort targets: above them, sending is suspended.

Measured over a rolling thirty days. The complaint rate is only judged from one thousand sends: below that, one person clicking 'spam' is not a signal. What's at stake before sending →

Frequently asked questions

Why did my rate drop suddenly?

A sudden drop is almost always a deliverability issue, not a writing issue: a broken DNS record, a spike in complaints, an imported list that bounces. Check your delivery rate before rewriting your subject line.

How long are statistics kept?

As long as the campaign exists. Deleting a campaign deletes its statistics — this is irreversible, and announced at the time of deletion.

Is open and click tracking legal — under CAN-SPAM, GDPR or CASL?

The tracking pixel is data processing: it must appear in your privacy policy, and your subscribers must be able to object. Mailcheer provides the elements; the notice on your site is your responsibility.

Can I see who clicked, person by person?

Yes, on each subscriber’s profile, and that’s often more useful than the percentage. It’s also what lets you build a ‘clicked in the last thirty days’.
